Ushers are an important part of the church’s Ministry of Hospitality, assisting to create a worship service that meets the diverse spiritual needs of church members and guests and helping them to feel treated with respect. Each service has four ushers who prepare the sanctuary for Sunday morning, welcome people to the service and provide the order of service for the morning. When latecomers arrive, ushers help them to join the worship service without disturbing those who have already entered the spirit of worship. Ushers also receive the offering with a sense of gratitude, count the collection and count the attendance for the day and work behind the scenes to maintain a spiritual environment. After the service, they strive to return the sanctuary to its original state.
