When giving thanks fills up your cup,
And those you love are all about,
Look to your blessings, count them up,
And give back something to the world without.
Robert Mabry Doss
Over the past month you have met people like Nancy Vilce and Marie Obethe Moise in Haiti, Chrisantus Mwandihi in Kenya and Don Mario Pérez in Honduras – local heros working hard to create and support healthy environments, sustainable livelihoods, food security, self-sufficiency and lasting positive change in their communities. In this season of thanksgiving, is there room at your table to symbolically include them as your guests?
If you have been inspired by their stories and, grateful for the blessings in your own life, want to “give back something” please consider becoming a member of UUSC or renewing your membership. UUSC advances human rights and social justice around the world, partnering with those who confront unjust power structures and mobilizing to challenge oppressive policies. Become a part of this community of inspired and passionate human rights activists by using the envelope available during coffee hour or donating online at uusc.org/givetoguest.
Special reminder for CYRE Families:
Donation containers for Guest at Your Table were decorated by children in the CYRE classes on October 19th. These containers on your table at home are a reminder of all that the UUSC does for struggling families all over the world. Please return your boxes to church on Sunday, November 23rd. Thank you!
