Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC) Going Strong
October 19th was the kick-off Sunday for our annual UUSC Guest At Your Table (GAYT) program. November23rd is our wind-up Sunday. If you have already made a generous contribution to UUSC, that is great. Thank you! If not, there is still time to do so by using the envelope in your Order of Service on November 23rd, or by going online to www.uusc.org and clicking on “Donate.”
First U members have a long and strong history of supporting the world-wide human-rights work of UUSC. This year CYRE made donation boxes out of milk cartons and our adult members have focused on Stories of Hope and different ways to donate by mail and online. Whether your primary interest is environmental justice, economic justice, civil liberties, or humanitarian crises, UUSC is working for justice in these areas in 15 different countries around the world.
UUSC makes a difference on our behalf, putting our UU values into action. Any contribution of any size is very important. However, keep in mind that a contribution of $125 or more will be matched by the Sheltered Rock Unitarian Church, doubling the value of your contribution. For more information, contact Doyle Dobbins.
