First Unitarian and “EDR” have a long, rich history of collaboration. Run by the Ministry of Caring, Emmanuel Dining Room serves a hot breakfast and lunch every day of the year to those in need in 3 locations around the Wilmington area. A team from First Unitarian has been providing one of those lunches every month for over 20 years. As we know, hunger in our community remains, and we are there to help fill that need. As the 20th of each month rolls around, you’ll find our EDR team preparing and serving our now famous Chicken Shepherd’s Pie casserole meal to over 200 men, women and children in need at EDR’s location at 2nd and Jackson Streets in downtown Wilmington. But we couldn’t do it without your generous support. Each year it costs us $2,400/year to supply the food for this program. With your help we can ensure this program continues not only for the coming year, but for many more years to come. Thank you and happy holidays!
