Murray Grove Retreat and Renewal Center in Lanoka Harbor, NJ is a living memorial to the lives and Universalist faith of John Murray and Thomas Potter. It is the sacred site of the U.S. origins of Universalism, a faith based on love and profound acceptance of differences that transformed the landscape of religion in America. This spirit of love calls Murray Grove to continue as a catalyst for transformation and a beacon of hope. Just as Thomas Potter saw the dawning wisdom of Universalism on the horizon in 1770 and lived to see his vision realized, so does the Murray Grove Retreat and Renewal Center continue to dream today.
This dream includes refreshed facilities, a new “green” structure combining a meaningful and sacred worship space, and effective, comfortable meeting rooms, and essential communication technologies, plus facilities for group and private retreats, quality office structures and private housing for the resident staff. First Unitarian Church is invited to join in the fulfillment of this exciting dream! The special collection on Sunday, January 11 will assist Murray Grove in realizing its expanded vision for the 21st century.
