Greetings from your new Developmental Minister!

As the newsletter deadline approached in mid-July I was deep in the throes of unpacking and getting our new home organized. I thought perhaps I could get my head above the chaos enough to send something inspirational for the August newsletter, but alas, I can only think of practical information about my start up to impart. (Fear not.  Soon enough we will be all unpacked and there will be pictures on the walls, and I will begin to turn my attention to this new ministry that we will practice together.)

Speaking of practical information, I begin work on August 1st. I plan to be in the office that day, unpacking boxes of books and getting myself set up. I will spend most of the month of August learning my way around, both literally and figuratively. The Welcome Team and I are setting up a series of “Meet the Minister” events. Watch for information about how to sign up.  I hope to meet and greet many of you at these events, or on Sunday morning, or during the week.

I will generally be in the office on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Calling ahead to make an appointment (day time or evening) is the best way to make sure you find me. Thursday will be my sermon writing/study day. I generally work from home on Thursdays, but will respond to email and phone calls. Friday is my day off. I only respond to pastoral emergencies on Fridays. I also make time for appointments on the weekends if that is most convenient for you.

My email address should go live on or about August 1st.

I wish each and every one of you a summer that is restful and restorative. And I look forward to getting to know you, and to know this beloved community.

In Faith and Love,
Rev. Roberta Finkelstein
