ILYA (Independent Living for Young Adults) just received a request for college care packages for 3 additional students from the West End Neighborhood House. Apparently the fax got lost somewhere and so we just learned of this need. Is it possible 3 more people would be willing to send packages to these students 4-6 times this year?
     College care package suggestions are: some tasty goodies, personal care items, school supplies, small holiday decorations/fun items, maybe a gift card once in a while to a store the young person can access easily (like Target, Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Dollar Store, etc.).
     This is a great way to get to know and help an interesting young person. Two of these are in nursing programs and the other in biological sciences. Other college care package recipients have said how encouraging it is to know that someone cares how you're doing while in school… how it helps when studies get tough or holidays get lonely.
     Please, First U… help us support these three students. The ILYA team members already have students we're sending packages to so we need your help for these 3 more. Please contact Betty Wier or Sue Wilson to sign up.
