Did you notice that there were no holiday wish lists at the ILYA (Independently Living for Young Adults) table on Sunday? That's because you all have outdone yourselves in stepping up to spread holiday cheer to our former foster care youth. Even when we got 5 last minute wish lists, you came through with amazing caring and generosity.
One of the youth wrote about support from ILYA. “I would like to personally thank everyone there for their contribution and let you know the difference you are making in my life. As a child in foster care, I am not financially supported by my parents but by sweet & kind people like you. I am beyond proud to say that after college [graduating in January] I will be working full time in Philadelphia with Pricewaterhouse Cooper as CPA accountant. I wouldn't be able to accomplish this without the help you have provided me. I am forever grateful.” SB
The front of the card read, “One act of kindness can make a WORLD of difference” and First U… you can see how you have! It's only through your support that ILYA can help make a difference in the lives of these young people. The ILYA team can't express clearly enough our gratitude for your ongoing support. Have a very wonderful holiday season!
