Who Makes the ILYA Holiday Giving Project Such a Great Success?

Of course, all the donors who buy the gifts or donate money are obvious and so appreciated. But did you ever think where we would be if we didn’t have a very dedicated project team? It takes a huge amount of planning and hard work to pull it off and Barbara Perry has been leading the effort for many years now.
This year she had a co-leader… Carolyn Gibson, who will be leading the project next year. Along with their helpers Martha Gessler, Henrietta McKelvey, Betty Wier & Barbara Crowell they gathered the lists, put the lists and tree out every Sunday and assisted congregation members in selecting their recipeint. They also accepted donations and collected gifts as they came in.
But that’s not the end of the story. All those gifts had to be organized and wrapped. Gerry Konzelmann and Sue Wilson assisted on that part so everything was ready for the Independent Living coordinators to pick it all up for delivery to the young people who have aged out of foster care that ILYA (Independent Living for Young Adults) serves.
It’s a big job that’s done so well with the project team’s heart shining through it all. Please join the rest of the ILYA team in thanking them for all their hard work. It wouldn’t happen without them… and all of you who donated!
