Occasionally, life would be easier if it were a cartoon. Someone would save the day, regardless of the circumstances. It is hard to beat a hero in a red cowboy hat and blue bandana. Pastoral Care has an acute need for volunteer drivers to help our UU members.
We are a church community which cares about the health and well being of each member of First UU. We have an obligation to support each other  in a concrete and loving way. We have no stagecoach to whisk away problems.
Pastoral Care is petitioning members to make a commitment, when requested, to drive members who are unable to navigate their daily lives. We have all experienced the fragility of illness or obstacles in our lives. It is an honor to help First Unitarian Church members. The possibility of driving members to doctor appointments or church should be a normal lexicon of our beloved community.
Let's give back to those who have been our heroes. Wanted: volunteers to put on a “red cowboy hat and blue bandana”. Please, email rides@firstuuwilm.org, to become a Pastoral Care driver.
