Big Give for Leon Huhn

I am a 7th grade student at NCCL (Newark Center for Creative Learning) School in Newark, DE. Our school is doing a project called the Big Give where each student is given $50 and asked to make a difference with the money. For my project I have decided to help Nemours Palliative Care, a hospice for children. I chose to do my Big Give project to help kids in hospice care because of my friend Leon Huhn who died recently after a long battle with cancer.

One of my goals is to buy copies of two different books to donate to children and their families who are in palliative care: The Next Place by Warren Hanson and The Invisible String by Patrice Karst. These books help families talk about the most difficult thing that many of them will ever experience; what will happen next during the end of life. My other goal is to provide journals and pens for the kids to express themselves.

You can help by donating books or money in one of the following ways:
Look for my “A Dollar A Smile” donation bin in Parish Hall after church on April 3rd, April 17th  and April 24th.
Go to https://www.gofundme.com/Adollarasmile to donate money.
Order a book on Amazon and have it shipped to my house (3140 Wilmont Dr. Wilmington, DE 19810).

Every book that I give Nemours Palliative Care will have a dedication plate in Leon Huhn's honor.

Please contribute to my project and help me reach my goal of donating 33 copies of each book in honor of my friend.  Thank you!
