Thanks to our communities' generosity, in 2015, Claymont Community Center successfully collected over 1,200 undergarments and just over $6,900 to purchase additional undergarment surplus for future needs/requests. These items went directly to Brandywine Day Care, Learning Center at Calvary, Claymont Food Closet recipients, and STEHM Women's shelter.
Claymont Community Center would like to help its child-supporting tenant agencies and broaden the efforts by collecting pre-packaged/unopened underwear, socks and undershirts. While we will continue to support the same agencies, we've expanded the agencies to include: Child Inc., JCC Early Childhood Center and more. The selected agencies provide child care, support, and much needed survival items to hundreds of qualified families annually. What's even more exciting is that for every pair of underwear donated, Underwearness, Inc. will match one-for-one. Here's where you can help! We invite you to make a donation of packaged/unopened children's underwear, socks, and undershirts or a monetary gift to provide further assistance in the nurturing, caring and educating of our agency programs. Your gift, in any amount, will go towards the purchase of children's underwear items.
Donations and gifts are considered a charitable contribution and receipts will be provided, upon request. Checks should be written to: Claymont Community Center c/o Underwearness Campaign, mailing donations and gifts to Claymont Community Center, 3301 Green Street, Claymont, DE 19703.
