Monday, September 12, at 6:00 p.m. at Hanover Presbyterian Church
Please plan to attend this coming Monday at 6:00 pm at the Hanover Presbyterian Church, 801 N. Jefferson St, Wilmington, DE 19802. We will hear about the successful Freedom School program and an upcoming program on the Court System, “Know Your Rights,” will be presented. The key topic of Skill Training, Employment, and Economic Development will be discussed by Carl Webster, Community Engagement Specialist from the Department of Labor and Linwood Jackson, new president of the state NAACP. We will learn where the Coalition can provide support and link with the community. There is also a movement to address low income community energy savings that is being driven by Energy Efficiency Advisory Council. It is composed of several segments but ultimately offers work skill training and entrepreneurship opportunities. Meetings of the Coalition to Dismantle the New Jim Crow are regularly held on the first Monday of the month at local churches. Our goal is to bring about change. We need your in-put as we search for solutions to present problems. Please contact Rev. Maiorano at paulamaiorano32@gmail.com or Joan Priest at joanwpriest@verizon.net to learn more.
