We recently purchased 5 copies of a book by Forrest Church, Love and Death: My Journey through the Shadow ($16/each). We sold 1 copy of the book, but the remaining 4 copies are missing. Did someone take these books, assuming that they were free? Although First U has a Library, from which you can borrow books, books at the Book Corner are available for purchase only. Profits go toward the purchase of new books (we donate some of these books to the Library). If you took the books assuming they were free, please return them.
As you know, the new UUA Common Read selection is The Third Reconstruction: Moral Mondays, Fusion Politics, and the Rise of a New Justice Movement, by Reverend Dr. William J. Barber II. Copies are available at Book Corner for $13 each. Purchase your copy for discussion with Rev. Roberta next year (on April 2 or April 9).
We recently lost a faithful Book Corner volunteer, Lisa Jacobs, to another local UU church. Unless fellow book lovers volunteer, Book Corner probably won't be open every Sunday. Please contact one of us to volunteer or email Bev at beverlyb123@verizon.net.
Bookishly yours,
Debbe Krape, Suzie Cornell, Bev Bach, and Sylvia Tarzanin
