Since the Black Lives Matter banner was moved up on high supports to curb vandalism, the lower banner supports have stood empty. Just after the election in November, Jeff Lott and Steve Cohen developed the idea of creating new banners that explain what our Church stands for. The new banners will be on the two lower wood supports and will be rotated monthly.
We chose the values of our Church that were developed in the “Mission Possible” process in 2012. The Executive Team enthusiastically supported the proposal and ordered the new banners. On December 21, Phil Krape and Steve Cohen hung two of the new colorful Banners and fixed the Black Lives Matter banner so it no longer sags.
The current banners on display are our Values of: “Love & Compassion” and “Wonder & Joy”. On Martin Luther King weekend prior to the Inauguration, the other two Values will be displayed: “Freedom & Justice” and “Growth & Discovery”. Let's use this time in our Country to help people know what we stand for and encourage more people to come join us in living our Values.
