You are invited to join members of the American Turkish Friendship Association (ATFA) for a Ramadan Iftar dinner at First U on Friday, June 23 at 8 p.m. An Iftar dinner is the time when the Ramadan fast is broken. Traditionally it features dates, fruits, light dinner and refreshments.
During Ramadan, Muslims fast between sunrise and sunset in order to experience the hunger of the less fortunate and to revitalize the spirituality of their faith. During these days they also love breaking bread with friends and sharing their generosity. “As ATFA we want to share this tradition with our friends at First U and have some lovely conversations.”
After a short video about Ramadan, dinner will be served about 8:30. Let’s demonstrate our radical hospitality! Please RSVP by June 17th, by emailing Dale Megill at (dalemegill@gmail.com). We would love to see you there!
