The Warmest Holiday Season Yet!

As you may know from reading our recent articles, ILYA (Independent Living for Young Adults) had more young people who have aged out of foster care submitting “wish lists” for Holiday Giving than any previous year. We were worried initially because that’s a lot of wishes to address but you all have come through once again! We’re delighted to share the news that every wish has been fulfilled by our wonderful donors.
Our project team led by Carolyn Gibson including Martha, Barbara Perry and Betty Wier have put many hours into organizing the lists and soliciting and receiving donations. This week they’ll be doing even more as they prepare the gifts for delivery to our young friends. Please be sure to bring your donation to church on Sunday if you haven’t already. And when you see these ladies, please say thanks for all their hard work.
We would also like to say a special thanks to the law office of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP. They have no church members on staff but when contacted by Martha, their employees fulfilled 4 family’s wish lists as part of their “week of giving”. Office manager Cathy James said it’s what their employees enjoy doing. How great it is to partner with others to help more young people!
Stay tuned for pictures!
