I’ve been at First UU for about 20 years and I still find myself smiling when I realize how much I’ve grown as an individual all because of my connections to this community. From my earliest involvement with the Warehouse Project where we recycled building material (where I broke my toe when a piece of Corian countertop landed on my foot) to this year where I’ve had the honor of co-facilitating OWL (Our Whole Lives program) to our youth–my journey continues. Knowing the youth of this church will be the leaders of tomorrow for our church and country provides me with hope! They are amazing!
As part of the Eagles football celebration this past week, they interviewed a former player who is now a minister in the Philadelphia area. He said “it is not the location that matters but the destination that counts.” Our church building is indeed just a place, however it provides a launch pad for me to grow and explore. I support this church financially to ensure it continues for future generations.
