ILYA (Independent Living for Young Adults which is the social justice program at First U supporting young people who have aged out of foster care) is having another baby shower on June 2nd. We’ve collected much of what this young mother is lacking but there are a few things still needed. We are also collecting for another young woman who will not be having a shower. If you feel you could help out, please go to the registry at Target.
The baby stroller/car seats are urgently needed to keep the new infants safe. Unfortunately, for safety reasons, it’s not recommended to use “donated” items in case they were previously in an accident or have been recalled. So, we’re asking for donations to help us purchase them. If you can help, please send a check to First U with “ILYA – Baby stroller” on the memo line. We’ll put all the donations together to provide this essential equipment.
Our help can ease the way to overcoming the challenge of child rearing while working or going to school. We thank you if you can help us support them.
