ILYA (Independent Living for Young Adults) is gathering the names of graduates for this year and there are many! We’ve secured a location for the pizza party (at no cost) and are collecting sets of towels/facecloths, pop-up hampers and $25 Target gift cards to put in backpacks. As soon as we know final numbers we’ll be purchasing Jansen backpacks (they come with a lifetime guarantee!) and stuffing them. We’re in count down mode to be ready for this June celebration.
We’ve received a lot of support already for this project for which we are so thankful. By that you are telling us you want to join us in celebrating the fantastic achievement of these young people. Focusing on studies when your life has been and often continues to be unstable and traumatic in foster care is a huge challenge. BUT THESE GRADS HAVE DONE IT!! They’ve persevered through thick and thin and representing you, we’re going to help them celebrate.
We’re asking for a bit more help to cover the expenses of this great project. Every donation (no matter the size) helps.
