The Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Chestertown is in search of a regular piano accompanist for Sunday services between September and May.
Requirements: Candidates are required to have the ability to read music and play hymns from the Unitarian Universalist hymnals, and experience and training sufficient to carry out the responsibilities listed below.
* Play for Sunday services from September through May including special services. Services are at 10 a.m. and generally last one hour. Most weeks the accompanist will play the prelude, offertory, and postlude music as well as accompany two to three congregational hymns. Thirty-eight services are planned for the 2018-19 church year.
* Work with the minister and the Worship Committee/Service Leaders to coordinate and plan the weekly music program.
* Rehearse with and accompany guest musicians or ensembles as needed. Note: If non-routine rehearsals are requested time will be compensated at an hourly rate.
* Check and fill the piano humidifier as needed, weekly, and report the need for tuning or other maintenance issues to the Music Liaison.

Compensation: The congregation will pay $100 per service, and an hourly rate for non-routine rehearsals if they are requested.
