A Big Thanks to the Questers!

ILYA (Independent Living for Young Adults) would like to thank the Questers Religious Exploration Group (our 4th, 5th & 6th graders) for the fantastic fun night they held last Friday. It was a fundraiser to benefit the young people aging out of foster care who ILYA services. The games were creative and fun and so well organized! There were pizza and drinks as well as many “goodies” for sale. And the Questers were perfect hosts to all who attended (church members of all ages and friends from the local community).
We had a scavenger hunt where the young attendees had to find items that go into the New Apartment Kits ILYA provides. Not only were many items donated to help fill the kits (wash baskets filled with basic needs to start up a new apartment) but the event raised $450! How’s that for the power of young people focused on doing good?
A fun time was had by all and the support this will provide a young person who has aged out of foster care is immense. Thank you to all who helped organize and run this wonderful event! Your efforts are definitely increasing social justice in our community. Great job, Questers!
