February Music Events

Wednesday, February 13, 7:15 p.m. – 7:45 p.m. in Parish Hall, led by Rev. Richard Speck. “Drum Circle” A half hour of the practice of meditation, called “The Drum Circle.” After the quiet, reflective style of Vespers (6:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., led by Cindy Cohen), you can join our drum circle and enjoy the meditation of the drum. No experience needed.

Sunday, February 17, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. with Scott Ward, Carol Scott, Rebecca Fisher and the Choir. “A Service Celebrating our UU Heritage of Hymns” Our morning worship service will be a celebration of hymns. There is still time to email Scott (or leave a note for him in the office) what your favorite hymn is and why. Histories, essays and singing will be offered.

(NOTE NEW DATE) Sunday, February 17, Noon – 1 p.m. in Brunner Chapel with Jim Curtis. “Outsiders Becoming Insiders: The Inner History of the Broadway Musical.” An hour class/discussion about the beginning of Broadway theaters, the production companies and the sometimes shady start of this beloved American phenomenon. Saturday, March 9. 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. coordinated by Scott Ward and Martin Hargrove. “Coffee House” February is the time to sign up via email to Scott (scott@firstuuwilm.org) for our annual Coffee House. Singing, dancing, poetry, stand up, playing an instrument and pretty much any other talent you might want to share; coffee house is the time. THIS IS OPEN TO PEOPLE OF ALL AGES. Snacks will be on sale by members of our Children and Youth Religious Exploration classes.
