Help Wanted – Memorial Garden

Did you know we have a memorial garden? Occasionally, a member’s family may ask to honor their loved one by burying their ashes in the garden just outside the church office. These arrangements are usually made with the minister as part of the memorial service. Not all our members choose this option, but it is available.
We are looking for a volunteer to have brass name tags made and to add them to the memorial plaque, kept by the garden door in the church office hallway. The brass name tags need to be taken to a trophy store nearby, on Concord Pike, with the name of the deceased and the dates of their birth and death. When the name tag is done, the volunteer would need to pick it up and then add it to the wooden plaque. It is an important job, but one that only happens occasionally. We would love to have a caring volunteer take on responsibility for this pastoral task. If interested, please contact Marina at marina@firstuuwilm.org.
