On Sunday, February 9th , it’s “Share the Plate Sunday” highlighting and benefiting ILYA (Independent Living for Young Adults). ILYA is the social justice program at First U that supports youth who have aged out of foster care. Youth who have been supported by ILYA will participate in the service and coffee hour. You’ll hear about their experiences both in and since their time in foster care. Additionally, there will be an update on the reorganization/restructuring of the program. You’ll hear about specific actions being taken to strengthen and expand it.
Please come to welcome our youth guests and the Independent Living Coordinators who are provided by the State of Delaware to guide the youth to adulthood. You can meet the director of the state office to ask questions and learn more about what benefits are provided.
