With heavy hearts, we announce that Marge Meyermann died in the early morning on May 7. Marge was 96 years old and was a beacon at First Unitarian and in our larger community during her many years of work and volunteerism. Marge joined the church in 1947, raising her daughters in the church and serving in many leadership roles over the years including two terms on the Board. In 1973 she created Adopt-a-Family, a program that provides critical aid to low-income families throughout Delaware. In countless ways, Marge inspired many people toward volunteerism and community engagement. We extend our care and concern to daughters Janet, Marnie, and Julie and to other family and friends who are missing her presence in the world. At this point a memorial service has not been announced. Information will be shared as it becomes available.
