Backpack Shoppers Needed

It’s time to fill the backpacks that will be given to graduating youth who are aging out of foster care. The ILYA (Independent Living for Young Adults) team usually does the shopping but this year COVID 19 is interfering. Most team members are in the “at risk” group and so are reluctant to do shopping that’s not essential. So we’re asking for a few volunteers who feel comfortable going into Target, to shop for us.
It’s a limited list of items that we purchase and there are no out-of-pocket costs to the shoppers. ILYA pays for all items thanks to the donations of generous church members and friends.
So maybe there are some younger folks who would be willing to take probably less than 2 hours to help us out? We only need a very few volunteers but we can really use that support. Please contact Jess Farris at (603) 948-7602 (phone or text) to let her know you can help out.
And we’re still looking for donations to help pay for the backpacks and “stuffings”. Send you check to the church with “ILYA” on the memo line or donate by credit card via the church website or the GivePlus+ app on your smartphone. Thanks for all your support!
