ILYA (Independent Living for Young Adults) thanks those who have supported this year’s Graduation Project. We’ve received many donations and shoppers have volunteered to help us make purchases for the backpacks. In addition, our project leader is enlisting the support of her company to fund laptop computers for the grads!
Knowing there are significant uncertainties about colleges, universities and technical schools offering in-person classes, Jess Farris (Graduation Project leader) has started a Go-Fund-Me site that is primarily being advertised throughout her nationally-based company, AmWINS Program Underwriters. As soon as it was posted, donations started coming in and she’s hoping that every student will be prepared with a laptop computer for virtual classes. Her company has a special purchase arrangement to obtain the computers at a reduced price making this a very real possibility. In case you’re interested please click here for more information.
We’re still planning a virtual “party” for mid-July and your donations will be making a significant positive impact on many young people. Right now our world needs all the acts of kindness possible and we thank you for your ongoing kind support!
