Independent Living for Young Adults Holiday Giving 2020

Several events have made 2020 a tough year for many. Are you looking forward to the season of peace, love and joy, even if celebrated socially distanced or virtually? So are youth who have aged out of foster care and are on their own with little support. But they often have nothing that makes it special for them.
There are 39 young people in our ILYA (Independent Living for Young Adults) program who need our help to have something to look forward to this season.
As a First U social justice program, our Holiday Giving project’s goal is to help bring cheer to these youth. This year, more than ever, we hope to extend the message that they don’t have to feel alone. We know it’s a hard year for many others too. If you can participate in sending this message of love and support, please donate by sending a check to the church with ILYA in the memo line or by using the GivePlus+ app on your mobile device (choose the ILYA option and it will go to Holiday Giving). You can also give through our website on our donation page (choose ILYA Donations).
Thank you for helping us give these young people a little holiday cheer. Your donations make a huge difference. If you’d like more background, click here for last week’s article on the church website. Thank you for your ongoing support. We couldn’t do this without you!
