The ILYA (Independent Living for Young Adults) program, an initiative of First Unitarian Church of Wilmington, is a volunteer run collection of projects that augment the offerings of the state sponsored Independent Living Services.
Because of Covid, ILYA asked UU members to contribute to it’s Holiday Giving program to help youth who have aged out of foster care. The Board and the ILYA team thank you all for your generous support! We raised $6,785.00 in November. With 39 young adults to support, your donations will make their holiday season a little brighter this year.
The Board would also like to thank you for support of the ILYA Care Package Project 2020, which ran in early fall. We are grateful to thirteen congregants and friends who have been matched with Independent Living students.
ILYA exists because of your generous financial and volunteer support.
Thank you,
Deborah Griffin, Board Member
