What a Success!

Once again, you have made the ILYA (Independent Living for Young Adults) Holiday Giving a HUGE success! This means that 39 youth who have aged out of foster care and 10 children are going to know there are people “out there” who care about them and want to give them some holiday cheer. “That means so much to the youth,” said Sophia Elliot, Director of Independent Living Services with Delaware Family Services.
We weren’t sure what was going to happen this year with COVID-19 changing how we could do things. But you came through in a big way once again! With over $6000 in donations, we’re able to make sure each youth and child receive not only a nice gift bag, but also the knowledge that they aren’t alone during this holiday season. And with that support, you’ve done something else… you’ve deeply touched the ILYA volunteers who worried about pulling the project off this year.
During this challenging time, we wish you the joy you’ve given the ILYA team and the youth we serve through your donations. Thank you, First U!
