On January 31, the Youth Group met on Zoom, as usual. Instead of a regular meeting with worship, learning, and fun though, they had a virtual Social Action Projects Day!
Members of the Youth Group made No Sew Blankets for A.I. DuPont Children’s Hospital. They also created Literacy Packets for Love Letters for Literacy. Love Letters for Literacy promotes early childhood literacy in all 50 US states and in 25 other countries. The packets included handmade alphabet flash cards, a hand written note, and instructions to play games with the flash cards.
Catherine Williamson, our Director of Religious Education, put together supplies for the youth. The youth and their families stopped by church on January 24. Using Covid safe practices, supplies were placed in each family’s car. The finished products will be delivered to church using the same procedure. Then they will be delivered to A.I. DuPont Hospital and Love Letters for Literacy.
