Part of our preparation for the new church year in the building includes revising our welcome team for Sunday worship.
We are combining the roles of usher and greeter into a single job with the title of “Usher.” We will have an usher posted at each entrance, plus two floater ushers in the sanctuary. The role at the entrance will be to greet people, give directions, remind people to wear a mask or provide one if they forgot one. We will also ask visitors to register for potential contact tracing. Once we lock the parking lot door and the garden door at 10:45 a.m., the ushers will go to the sanctuary and join the other ushers to be available if needed during worship. There will be some additional changes to procedures which will be provided to ushers as part of the training we will offer at a future date.
Other pandemic changes to the welcome team include the elimination of Sunday office volunteers, Welcome table volunteers and coffee hour volunteers. While operating under pandemic restrictions, we will not have social hour in Parish Hall after worship.
If you are interested in helping with our usher team, please contact Greg Griffin at ggriffin8@msn.com. Greg will be creating the schedule and has already started to contact folks who have served as ushers in the past.
