Our First UU members have been busy, designing a number of events for this year’s Delaware Peace Week (DPW). We suggest visiting the “Home page” of the DPW website as a first step on the journey to participating, as this group’s Steering Committee have shared an inspiring message. Next, if you have time, the “About page” on this site has a wealth of information, including purpose, objectives and Steering Committee Members. And then visiting the tab, “Attend Events” will provide you with all the information you will need, including location, contact, and registration. The events on the page are not organized by title, rather they are organized by the date and time of each event. The site also has a tab that provides a quick view to check which events you have registered for. Each contact person for each event will reach out to you if any details for the events change, i.e., in person to online and there is a phone number listed for each contact in case there are questions you would like to ask.
As you view the events, here is a list of the events that First UU is sponsoring this year.
October 3, 2:00 p.m. Nature Peace Walk; Service Project, Pt. 1
October 3, 2:45 p.m. Nature Peace Walk; Service Project, Pt. 2
October 5, 6:30 p.m. Healing Stories of Immigration
October 9, 11:00 p.m. Ranked Choice Voting: The Path to a More Peaceful Politics
October 10, 10:30 a.m. Practicing the Art and Soul of Peacebuilding with Rev. Dr. Larry Peers
October 10, 11:30 a.m. Peace Pole Celebration – May Peace Prevail on Earth
We look forward to learning your ideas about activities First UU might sponsor for Delaware Peace Week 2022. It is never too early to get a jump start on planning, especially if your goal is to get others actively engaged in building Peace and collaborating with other individuals and groups interested in this important work. Reach out to Gerry Konzelmann, First UU Human Rights Task Force, with your questions and ideas at email@example.com.
