Poetry as a Tool for Wellness

Wednesdays,
November 10, 17, December 1, 8 (no session on November 24)
1:00-2:30 p.m.
with Rev. Dr. Larry Peers

This series is about using poetry to find meaning in our lives. Rather than trying to understand exactly what the author may have intended, we will provide generous support to one another as we focus on how poems and words can offer healing and understanding. Each session will focus on a theme and ways to explore that theme through: Quotes, Poems, Individual writing of poems or reflections, Group sharing (optional), Closing.
This is not about writing the perfect poem but about finding ways to express your thoughts and experiences creatively as well as to learn from one another.

Rev. Dr. Larry Peers, minister at First Unitarian Church of Wilmington, was trained in this Poetry as a Tool for Wellness program this past summer by the Institute for Poetic Medicine. He is looking forward to sharing this experience with you. It is best if you can attend all of the sessions in this series, but we’ll be flexible. Feel free to invite a friend to join you. We will determine from the registrations whether this program will be online or at the church.

To register, please complete this form and indicate whether you would prefer to meet online, at the church or either. You may also call the church office at 302 478 2384.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email by November 5th. Photo by Chris Lawton in Unsplash
