After two years of virtual-only interaction, General Assembly (GA) is going multiplatform this year with both in-person and online options. GA runs June 22-26, 2022 and is live from Portland Oregon with the theme of “Meet the Moment: Reimagining Radical Faith Community.”
GA is the annual meeting of our Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) where participants gather to strengthen the bonds of the larger community and build new ones through personal connection and democratic process. Whether in-person or streaming online, it inspires and encourages attendees to celebrate the power of our community and reaffirm our commitment to live our mission.
Last year, more than 4,000 people registered and participated in a wide variety of workshops, programs and worship services. This year, GA broadens the experience by restoring face-to-face interaction and at the same time offering engaging involvement remotely. Anyone can register and attend. For the governance aspects of GA, each congregation is allowed to send delegates to vote on behalf of the church, and our church is allowed 7 delegates. If you’re interested in serving in this capacity, please reach out to Board Co-Presidents Leslie Dickerson, Lad724@gmail.com, or Travis Laster, TravisL@firstuuwilm.org, by May 1, 2022. Delegates will be affirmed at our annual meeting in May.
