I have, quite literally, always loved and been drawn to music. My mother sang to me from the time I was born, and she exposed me to so many songs from her mental catalogue I have thankfully retained (our bath time duets were legendary).
I’ve been singing now for over 60 years, mostly in choirs and choruses, with a few more eclectic experiences here and there. My many years as a member of the First U Choir is one of the high points of my musical experiences, so much so that I want to reach out to encourage other First U members who may be contemplating giving choir a try.
The choir is a welcoming and friendly group with wide-ranging musical abilities. Some have been singing for decades, some for a much shorter time. Some read music, some learn by ear. But we all have SO MUCH FUN gathering on Thursday nights to make music together. Being part of First U choir is experiencing camaraderie and caring, laughter and friendship, and a shared love of singing together and being able to contribute to Sunday services. Best of all, you can come try us out any Thursday from 7:00-8:30 p.m. with no obligation! So, if you think choir might be something you’d enjoy, I hope you’ll consider coming to a rehearsal sometime soon!
