Over the past few years, we had a food pantry for First U members who might need assistance. However, we realized that very few items were being taken, leading us to throw away expired food on a regular basis. We also recognized that there are other community organizations that offer food banks and can serve those in need more effectively.

Recently, the Pastoral Care Team decided to eliminate the food pantry, and replace it with a Food Assistance Program. From now on, we will provide grocery gift cards to members in need, rather than actual food items. The Food Assistance Program will be administered by the Pastoral Care Team in partnership with the church office.
Please do not bring food items to the church from now on.
