First U needs a new Treasurer. Our current Treasurer, Seth Hammonds, will be leaving at the end of this fiscal year and we’re looking for a replacement. You don’t need a background in high finance or even crypto currency markets, but a familiarity with bookkeeping or accounting is necessary. If you are uncertain if you would qualify, or if you are concerned about workload, our Business Manager, Marina VanRenssen can train you in our account structure, our practices and reporting formats. Our day to day financial activity is handled by office staff and our past treasurers can provide coaching to help you transition into the role.

The role of the Treasurer is critical to our self-governance structure by providing oversight of our financials and working with the Board’s Finance Committee to advise the Board on the Church’s financial well-being as well as with members of the Executive Team. The Treasurer is a standing officer of the Church and, as with all officers, the post is voluntary.
