Christmas Eve & Christmas Day Service Information

Christmas Eve:  Saturday, December 24, 2022

Pre-Service Music 6:40 p.m.

Service at 7:00 p.m“Now is the Time: Intergenerational Christmas Candlelight Service”

(in the building and online)

Join us for this intergenerational celebration of the universal meanings of Christmas. Through special music and carols, stories and reflection, the sharing of candlelight and joy, we will remind each other that “the dark universe is suddenly illuminated by the lights we hold and the whole world is glad and loud with winter singing (Victoria Safford).”

The choir will be joined by guest soloists and instrumentalists in performing a pre-service program of selections from Vivaldi’s Gloria, beginning at 6:40 p.m. Our 7:00 p.m. Christmas Eve service will feature traditional carols sung by the children’s choir, adult choir and congregation.

Christmas Day: Sunday, December 25, 2022

“The Mood of Christmas” (online only)

This service will feature readings from Howard Thurman read by our members; Christmas spirituals by singers from our congregation, and a brief reflection by Rev. Dr. Larry Peers.

Thurman was considered one of the most prominent religious leaders in our country. He had a prophetic and mystical sensibility, was a mentor to Martin Luther King, Jr. and he continues to inspire many. Link will be available later in December.
