In November, over 70 First U members and friends met during the Strategic Planning Summit, and there they talked about the history of the church and then BOLDLY envisioned our future. They wanted First U to become a thriving church, with a variety of activities that would create a connected community, one that worked to make the world a better place, and one that would attract younger generations. They talked about increasing our social media presence, adding different ways and days to worship, and being a more active presence in the community of Wilmington, fighting for social justice and civil rights.
During this year’s pledge drive, our pledges need to be as BOLD as our goals for First Unitarian. The funding for our future starts now. With increased funds, we can build the programs that we want with improved technology, infrastructure, and more staff. We cannot wait for future church members to start the work; it starts with us! Do each of us have the commitment to share our time and financial resources so that we can meet our ambitious goals? The answer must be yes if we are to realize the future First U we want to see. Generating our future starts now!
