On February 19 the children learned about Stewardship. During our worship service we sang From You I Receive, to You I Give. We heard the story of the Widow’s Mite and considered ways we can give of our Time, Talent, and Treasure to be good stewards of our congregation and the world. Then, the Chalice Children (PreK3 – 3rd grade) prepared food for Coffee Hour. They sliced cheese, celery, and apples and arranged them along with crackers, cookies, and grapes on platters. This was a project to demonstrate that they are good stewards of their church. Austin Donohue, one of our youth, helped out by providing his delicious vegan chocolate chip cookies for coffee hour. The Chalice Children loved the opportunity to use knives safely, prepare food, and be of service to their fellow church members!
