Welcome New Member David Nelson

I have resided at Kendal at Longwood in Kennett Square with my wife, Judy Gibson, since August, 2017. I have two children and four grandchildren who reside in West Simsbury, CT and Phoenix, AZ.

After graduation from Oberlin College and Columbia University Law School, and two years as a government lawyer, I practiced law in my hometown of Gouverneur, NY for 20 years. In 1983 I was elected St. Lawrence County Family Court Judge, and continued serving as a judge for the next 20 years, later moving to Canton, NY.

The first Unitarian church I attended was All Souls in Washington, DC, in 1961. In 1984 I became a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Canton, NY, and remained a member there until moving to Kendal. My wife and I attended other UU churches in this area from time to time and after fairly regular attendance at First UU of Wilmington this past year, we have decided to make our spiritual home at First UU.
