Mungu Akubariki! Asante sana! Mungu Akubariki! Asante sana!
A million blessings and thank-yous in Swahili to First U. The interest and generosity you have shown for this family from Tanzania has been heartwarming. The apartment is all set up! The family has moved in and is getting used to their new surroundings and routine. For a few photos, please click here.
If you missed the donation of items for the apartment, there will be many more opportunities to help! One is coming right up!!
Save the Date: Sunday, April 9 UUSC Justice Sunday
Share-the-Plate – Another Opportunity to Give
Sunday, April 9 is our Share the Plate for UUSC’s Justice Sunday. Justice Sunday this year supports the Congregational Accompaniment Project for Asylum-Seekers (CAPAS). As we are a CAPAS congregation now, the money we raise on Sunday, April 9 will go directly to supporting our own project. We will use this money to pay for legal fees, groceries, medical expenses, daily living expenses, transportation, personal items, and anything else that comes up. We will also need more volunteer help with our local CAPAS project, so there will be plenty of opportunity to give your time, talents, and treasure.
