Many large international aid agencies have moved on from the Ukraine region — while the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC) committed to doing the exact opposite. Ten new UUSC partners in Eastern Europe are providing welcoming support and dignified relief to Ukrainian refugees fleeing war and fighting against the long-term injustices facing people of color, individuals with disabilities, LGBTQI+ people, and the Roma community, while building world community with peace, liberty and justice for all. Find out more about how the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee lives out our UU principles.

Ten new UUSC partners in Eastern Europe are providing welcoming support and dignified relief to Ukrainian refugees fleeing war, while also fighting against the long-term injustices facing people of color, individuals with disabilities, LGBTQI+ people, and the Roma community.
Here are just a few of our courageous partners who are advancing the rights and self-determination of Ukrainian families seeking safety:
Nomada upholds people’s right to migrate, offering free legal services and protection in two refugee camps located in western Poland. They also provide humanitarian and legal aid to people in migration who have become stranded at the Polish-Belarusian border due to the war.
Alliance for Black Justice Poland addresses the unequal treatment many Black and Brown people experience when fleeing Ukraine and entering Poland. Services include legal advice, transportation, assistance to find safe housing, healthcare, and more.
RegenerAction provides counseling, crisis intervention, and networks of care for activists on the frontlines.
Make sure to keep an eye out for more Eyes on Eastern Europe content on UUSC’s blog.
