Welcome New Member – Monica Klinke

Originally from Philadelphia, we raised our kids in South Jersey then moved to Vermont after the youngest left for college. It had been a lifelong dream to live in that beautiful state, and it was wonderful for 17 years until I retired. I am the mother of 4 children, 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandsons.

Now that our kids are grown and settled, with families of their own, we moved back and settled in Delaware to be closer to them. I have always loved to sing and was searching for a choir. I had attended a couple of services over the years at a Unitarian Church and was overwhelmed by the welcoming nature. I decided to explore First UU and with encouragement from my daughter, we came to the Veterans Day Service in November 2023. Greeted, welcomed warmly and awe inspired by the service, I immediately joined the choir. Each service I attend and each person I meet, just confirms that this is the place I belong. Everything about First UU aligns with my values and expectations of a fulfilling and social spiritual life. I am blessed to join and be a part of this wonderful place.
