Share-the-Plate: October 4th – Help the Lenape Forest Garden Grow

A half-acre may not sound like much.

But a half-acre can hold a forest garden. It can hold food-producing plants and trees. It can provide habitat for wildlife. It can become a place for teaching and gathering. And, over time, it can become a living expression of the relationship between people and the land.

That is what is taking shape at the Lenape Tribe of Delaware’s Forest Garden at Fork Branch, near Cheswold, DE.

The project is part of a longer effort to restore tribal land and reconnect it with Lenape lifeways and knowledge. It is not simply about planting a garden. It is about caring for land in a way that provides food, supports biodiversity, and keeps cultural knowledge connected to the place where it belongs.

Our Sunday plate offering on October 4th gives us a chance to help.

Every contribution, large or small, can be part of the process of restoring this land and helping the Forest Garden flourish. As Unitarian Universalists, we have an opportunity to turn our concern for the Earth and our commitment to respectful relationships into something tangible—something that can be planted, tended, shared, and passed forward.

When the giving options appear on the screen and the offering plate comes around, please consider giving generously!

Help us help this small forest garden put down deep roots.
