Becoming a UU eight years ago took me by surprise. I was not looking for a church or an additional community of friends. I was already on the path of spiritual development and engaging in significant personal growth. Or so I thought. I did not anticipate my life changing until I attended church one day with an old friend. Becoming a member of First Unitarian Church of Wilmington has ever since enriched my life exponentially in mind, spirit and heart. I have engaged in many opportunities in our church as an usher and as member of the Ovals and a Brown Bag lunch group. Working with ILYA through the New Apartment Kits committee and partnering with our Questers on special fund- raising events has offered me great rewards in helping others in need. Supporting general activities in our community has given me rich experiences in getting to know members at large.
My career has spanned working in pediatric units as a play therapist and in elder care settings as a recreation therapist and program consultant. Upon retirement I enjoyed playing with women in a boutique and a hat shop! My husband, Tom, and I enjoy an active retirement in Hockessin and traveling around the world. As lovers of nature our stay-cation home is a source of peace and imagination. We have two children and three grandchildren.
