A group of men from First Unitarian Church and their friends gathers one day each month for dinner and conversation. We start at 6:15 p.m. and usually leave between 8:30 and 9:00 p.m. In the summer, we have back-yard gatherings hosted by volunteers. Attendees bring beverages (often something others may not have tasted yet to share) and we order out for food.

Otherwise, we meet at a local establishment that can seat the size group we have (currently McKenzies Brew House gets the nod). Have dinner or not, it’s your choice – we either separate the checks or each pay our share. There’s no pressure to do or overdo alcohol. Non-alcoholic drinks are available.

Other than food, drink, and tips, Channing Society asks a voluntary $1 per person per meeting for the “Channing” fund from which we have made contributions to the church’s ILYA project and which may also contribute to improvements in the sanctuary sound system.

Although we do not have a structured topic, the conversation is always lively and as varied as our attendees can make it. Any questions? Just ask! Email Paul Pinson to learn more.
