It is so easy to confuse Justice with Revenge. Justice has fairness as its foundation. Revenge is rooted in our own reactivity. And yet it is so tempting to conflate the two; to paint our desire to inflict revenge in an aura of something more noble. How can we extricate the two? For in order to do justice in the world, as our faith calls us, we need to know the difference.
